How does community profit-sharing work?
We currently offer two paid membership levels, the Co-Founder level and the Investor level, each with different financial commitments and benefits to the member.
In order to reward our members for supporting us early on we are carving out some of our profit to share back with the Coast Range Collective community.
One of the ways that we generate revenue is through YouTube's Partner Program in conjuction with Google AdSense. When people on YouTube watch our videos, YouTube shows them ads, and we receive a portion of that ad revenue from Google. We are reserving 30% of this ad revenue to distribute to Coast Range Collective members at the Co-Founder level and above.
At the end of each payment cycle, IF we have received a payment from Google AdSense, Coast Range Collective will take 30% of that payment and distribute it to our paid members. The exact amount each member receives will vary based on the amount available to distribute, the total number of paid members eligible to receive a distribution, and the number of months each person has been a paid member.
Members at the Investor level are entitled to participate in the same AdSense revenue share. IN ADDITION, Investor members are entitled to a percentage of profits from ALL Coast Range Collective Revenue streams. This includes merchandise sales, affiliate revenue, sponsorship deals, etc. We are reserving 10% of profits to share with our Investor level members. The exact amount each member receives will vary based on the amount available to distribute, the total number of paid members eligible to receive a distribution, and the number of months each person has been a paid member.
Profit share distributions will be made once per year, typically in January for the the previous 12 month period.
Don't Forget - this is all in addition to our commitment to put 10% of profits into local conservation projects in the Coast Range and beyond.

How much revenue/profit share am I entitled to?
Co-Founder level members are eligible to particpate in the 30% Google AdSense revenue share. Are profit/revenue sharing distributions guaranteed?
No.
There are a lot of factors that may limit, or even eliminate the possibility of distributions. For example, we may not earn any Google AdSense revenue in a give month, or, at the end of the year after accounting for all expenses there may be no actual profits to distribute.
Am I a legal co-founder or investor if I become a member?
Participating in the revenue/profit sharing program by becoming a paid member does not make you a legal co-founder or investor in Coast Range Collective with ownership shares.
