Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Coast Range Collective (“CRC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Coast Range Collective Chrome browser extension (the “Extension”) and related member services powered by our Quiver platform.

This policy is specific to the Extension. Our general storefront privacy practices are also described in our site Privacy Policy.

Who we are

Coast Range Collective is an outdoor membership community operated from the United States. Contact: hello@coastrangecollective.com.

What the Extension does

The Extension helps CRC members and shoppers discover partner brand deals, activate affiliate tracking when visiting partner merchants, and (for signed-in members) view member discount codes. It communicates with Quiver at quiver-production-732c.up.railway.app (our API).

Information we collect

  • Active tab domain / URL context. To detect whether you are on a partner merchant site and show relevant deals or codes, the Extension reads the active tab’s URL/domain when you open the popup or when affiliate activation runs.
  • Extension session identifier. A random session UUID stored in Chrome session storage to correlate clicks and prevent duplicate activations during a browser session.
  • Click attribution metadata. When you use Shop / deep-link flows that hit our /go endpoints, we may receive the destination URL, merchant identifier, channel hints, and a hashed or truncated network identifier (such as hashed IP) for abuse prevention and affiliate attribution.
  • Member account data (only if you sign in). Optional Shopify Customer Account login. We receive OAuth tokens/identity enough to verify membership (for example customer tags) and issue a short-lived member session JWT stored in Chrome session storage. We do not store your Shopify password.
  • Local extension preferences. Chrome storage may hold UI state and auth session data needed for the Extension to function.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Extension data for cross-context advertising.

Cookies and affiliate activation

On partner merchant domains, the Extension may set a short-lived browser cookie (for example an activation status marker) so affiliate network tracking can complete when you shop. Affiliate partners (currently including AvantLink, Impact, and Awin) may set their own cookies according to their policies when a tracked click occurs.

How we use information

  • Show partner deals and member codes for the current merchant
  • Activate and attribute affiliate clicks that fund CRC membership programs and conservation-aligned initiatives
  • Authenticate CRC members and gate member-only codes
  • Prevent abuse, debug broken flows, and improve reliability
  • Comply with law and affiliate network requirements

Third parties

  • Quiver API / hosting (Railway) — processes Extension API requests
  • Shopify — Customer Account login and membership verification
  • Affiliate networks — AvantLink, Impact, Awin (and merchant sites you visit)
  • Google Chrome / Google — Extension distribution and Chrome APIs

Data retention

Session identifiers and member JWTs are intended to last for a browser session or until they expire/sign-out. Server-side attribution and operational logs are retained only as long as needed for affiliate reconciliation, security, and troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated.

Your choices

  • You can remove the Extension at any time in Chrome
  • You can sign out of the member session from the Extension
  • You can clear Chrome site data/cookies for merchant domains
  • For access or deletion requests related to CRC membership, email hello@coastrangecollective.com

Children

The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the Extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
